Your Pastyx account

Signing in is optional on the Mac and needed to sync with the iPhone/iPad app and the web app. Pastyx uses a leeguoo account (account.leeguoo.com, email and password), which is also used by other leeguoo apps and websites. For an account we store your email address, a salted password hash, your display name if you set one, and your sessions. Synced clips (text, links, rich text and images you choose to sync), their tags and a random device identifier are stored by our sync service (pasteapi.leeguoo.com, hosted on Cloudflare) and are only used to show your clips back to you on your devices. We do not sell data, show ads in the apps, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside either app: Settings → Delete Account on iPhone and iPad, or Settings → Account → Delete Account… on the Mac. This immediately and permanently deletes all your synced clips, tags and images on our servers, and your leeguoo account itself (sign-in details, sessions and linked sign-ins, in every leeguoo app that uses it). Because the account is shared, you will no longer be able to sign in to other leeguoo apps with it. There is no undo. If you cannot use the apps, ask for deletion through the support page.

The Mac app

Pastyx keeps your clipboard history in a database on your Mac. It does not send your clipboard anywhere unless you turn on one of the sync options below. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking in the Mac app.

• Private items are skipped. Items that password managers mark as concealed or transient, and apps you choose to ignore, are never recorded.
• Accessibility. Pastyx uses the Accessibility permission for one thing: pressing ⌘V in the app you were using after you pick a clip. It does not read, record or monitor your keystrokes.
• Link previews. For links you copied, the icon and preview are loaded directly from that website, as a browser would; no third party is involved.
• iCloud sync (optional). When you turn it on, your history is stored in your own iCloud account so your Macs stay in sync. We cannot access it.
• Account sync (optional). If you sign in, your clips are sent over HTTPS to our sync service (pasteapi.leeguoo.com, hosted on Cloudflare) so you can reach them from the web app and your other devices. You can sign out, delete clips, or delete your account (see above) at any time.

The iPhone and iPad app

The iOS app shows your synced history and keeps a copy of it on your device (inside the app and its extensions, so the keyboard can show clips). It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

• Clipboard. The iOS app does not read your clipboard in the background. It receives clipboard content only when you tap the system Paste button in the app, and saves that item to your account. Tapping a clip puts it on the clipboard.
• Pastyx keyboard. The keyboard shows your saved clips so you can insert them. It never records, stores or sends what you type. With Full Access turned off it can still switch keyboards and type space, delete and return; Full Access is used only so the keyboard can load your own clips (from the app’s storage on this device and from your account) and copy images for you to paste. Nothing typed with other keyboards is visible to Pastyx.
• Share extension. Text, links or images you share to Pastyx are saved to your account.
• Photos. The app asks for add-only access to your photo library when you save an image clip to Photos; it never reads your library.
• Sign-in happens in a secure Apple sign-in sheet on account.leeguoo.com; the sign-in pages shown to the app contain no ads or analytics.

The direct-download version

The version downloaded from our website additionally contacts:

• Lemon Squeezy, our payment and licensing provider, to activate and periodically verify your license (your license key, purchase email and a random name for this Mac).
• GitHub, at most once a day, to check whether a newer version has been released.

The Mac App Store version does neither: purchases and updates go through Apple.

The web app

paste.leeguoo.com shows the clips you synced after you sign in. The website uses privacy-friendly usage analytics (PostHog, Google Analytics) and may show ads (Google AdSense) on its public pages. Sign-in is handled by account.leeguoo.com. None of this applies to the Mac or iOS apps.

Retention

Synced clips stay on our servers until you delete them or your account. Quick-share links you create without an account expire automatically. Server backups kept by our hosting provider roll over within 30 days.
